The institution has a broad-based board of directors. The board functions as a full board and through various committees to oversee specific operational areas.

mkandla-ncubeMrs. Ntokozo Mkandla Ncube - Board Chairperson
Ntokozo M. Ncube is a qualified Chartered Accountant and holds a BAcc (hons) degree-UZ and an Accounting Science (Hons) degree from UNISA. She is currently the Group Finance Executive for National Foods Limited. She has over 20 years work experience acquired from senior executive positions, leading local and regional corporate entities, including Delta Corporation, OK Zimbabwe and Nicoz Diamond Insurance.






mudzwitiMr. Peter Mudzwiti - Vice- Board Chairperson
Mr. Mudzwiti holds a B.Tech. Accountancy (Hons) Degree from UZ and completed Articles with Ernst & Young (Chartered Accountants, Zimbabwe). He has over 10 years Internal Auditing experience having started his career an internal auditor at Chibuku Breweries and rising to Audit Manager.  He then joined Zimasco (Pvt) Limited, the largest ferrochrome producer in Zimbabwe as Divisional Auditor before relocating to their Head Office in Harare in late 2004 as Group Audit Manager. After 5 years Mr Mudzwiti then moved to take up the portfolio of Group Business Systems Manager within Zimasco, which is the position he held until he took up a Voluntary Retrenchment Package in February 2014. He is currently at dissertation stage in Executive Masters in Business Administration (EMBA) studies with Africa University while taking up Small Scale Mining Consultancy assignments as well as farming.



makomvaMs. Theresa Makomva –Board Member
Theresa Makomva holds a BBS (Hon) degree and an MBA both from UZ. She has 20 years- experience in small enterprise development and lending. Theresa is currently employed by the Zimbabwe Farmers’ Union (ZFU) as Head of Operations and has previously worked for WDSCU and SEDCO respectively. Theresa has also undergone the Boulder Microfinance Training Program under Rural and Agricultural Finance (RAF) Program on Value Chain Financing as an approach to achieving Smallholder Financing.

At ZMF: Joined ZMF board January 2012 and held the position of Chairperson of the CC committee since then.


Ms. Pardon Magaya – Board Member
Pardon Magaya holds a Bachelor of Laws honours degree (LLBS) from UZ and an Executive Masters in Business Administration (EMBA) from MSU. She is an established commercial lawyer with more than 8years working experience. She is employed by the Deposit Protection Corporation as a Legal Services Manager and has previously worked for Sawyer and Mkushi. She is also a member of the Law Society of Zimbabwe.

At ZMF: Joined ZMF board in January 2012 as a member of the CC committee since then.


jamesMr Itai James – Board Member
Mr James holds an MSc in Strategic Management from Chinhoyi University of Technology (CUT), a BSc Honours degree in Psychology as well as Diplomas in Personnel Management (IPMZ), Banking (IOB) (Z) and Salaries Administration. He is currently employed by TCS Freight Private Limited as the Human Resources Manager.  Before that he once had a stint at Kingdom Financial Holdings (KFHL) before and after the merger with Meikles to form Kingdom Meikles Africa Limited (KMAL) from 2001 to 2009.





gumbeDr. Samuel Gumbe – Board Member
Dr. Gumbe has a PhD in business management and holds qualifications in business studies and administration, credit management and a of trainer’s certificate in SME development. He is currently the Dean of the Faculty of Commerce at the University of Zimbabwe, having previously worked at the Small Enterprises Development Corporation (SEDCO).




gwizaMr. Funwell Gwiza – Board Member
Mr. Gwiza holds a B. Tech (Accountancy) Honours Degree and is a Chartered Accountant who did his training with Ernst & Young Harare. He is currently the General Manager Audit & Risk with Delta Corporation.
Mr. Gwiza is a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors of Zimbabwe and also sits on the Education Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Zimbabwe. He also sits on the Audit Committee of the Medicines Control Authority of Zimbabwe.
Mr. Gwiza has a passion for governance issues and has presented papers on corporate governance at various forums organized by Delta Corporation, Mandel Training Centre and the Institute of Internal Auditors. He loves football and is a qualified level 4 (highest level in Zimbabwe) football coach and also has the CAF level B (second highest level in Africa) coaching certificate.
